Your End of Summer Hair Reset

Summer can be tough on your hair. Sun, heat, swimming, holidays and extra styling can leave it feeling drier, more tangled and not quite as healthy as it did at the start of the season.

Start with a good cleanse

After weeks of styling products, dry shampoo, chlorine and salt water, your hair can benefit from a good cleanse. If your hair is feeling heavy or coated, try adding a clarifying shampoo into your routine every so often, followed by a nourishing conditioner or treatment. We love the Eleven Australia Deep Clean Shampoo. With a fresh citrus scent, it leaves the hair feeling thoroughly clean without overly drying it out.

Give your lengths some extra love

Your mid lengths and ends are usually where you’ll notice the effects of summer first. Add a weekly hair mask or treatment and concentrate it through the lengths and ends for some extra moisture and nourishment. As we head into autumn and the styling tools come back out, make sure heat protection is part of your routine too. The L’Oréal Professionnel Absolut Repair Oil is a great all rounder, helping to nourish the hair while providing heat protection and adding shine.

Top tip: Apply a small amount of hair oil to your mid lengths and ends every day, especially if they’re feeling dry, to keep that hydration going.

A little trim can go a long way

If your ends are feeling dry after summer, a small trim can make a huge difference. You don’t need to lose lots of length. Removing those dry ends can instantly make your hair look healthier and feel more manageable.

And finally, give your hair a little break where you can. Let it air dry, embrace your natural texture and enjoy a few days without heated styling.

A little extra care now will have your hair feeling healthier, softer and ready for the season ahead.
